Fred MacMurray starred in 'Double Indemnity' (1944), 'The Apartment' (1960), and is best known to younger generations as the patriarch Steve Douglas in the long-running TV series 'My Three Sons' (1960-1972). He also appeared in numerous Disney films including 'The Shaggy Dog' (1959) and 'The Absent-Minded Professor' (1961).
